Storms leave damage in Iroquois/Kankakee Counties

Severe weather carved a path through Iroquois County Wednesday evening. A cloud with rotation in it was spotted Southwest of Paxton about 5 yesterday evening headed northwest. Significant storm damage was reported in rural Loda with damage found to buildings on at least two different properties. The National Weather Service will be in Iroquois County today to determine if the damage was caused by a tornado. Power poles were reported toppled between Loda and Cissa Park. Iroquois County Emergency Services Coordinator Scott Anderson says no injuries have been reported from the storms.
Power lines were reported blown down on Larry Power Road east of Exline Road about 5 last night. Com Ed says there are still customers in that area without power this morning. The expect to have that repaired and the power back on to that area by noon today.
Part of I-65 near Lowell Indiana had to be shut down for a time Wednesday after high winds blew over five semis. Traffic was routed off the Interstate at Route 10.
