Three people are dead following a one-car crash in Kankakee early Sunday morning. In press release, Kankakee City Police Chief Chris Kidwell says it happened about one yesterday morning in the 900 block of South Cobb Boulevard when the 2008 SUV left the road and hit a tree. After the crash, the SUV burst into flames and was fully involved when officers arrived. County Coroner Bob Gessner identifies the deceased as 45-year-old Kiyantis Riley, 48-year-old Philip Birdsong and 41-year-old Jeffrey Clark the second, all of Kankakee. All three were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Kankakee City Police, the County Coroner’s office and Illinois State Police continue to investigate the crash.
