Kankakee Fire called to garage fire Wednesday night

Kankakee City Fire Department personnel were called to a home in the 200 block of North Hammes last night for a structure fire. Reports say when they got there, firefighters found the fire contained to the garage. Damage was put at about five-thousand-dollars. It’s thought the fire was caused by the hot exhaust from a yard trimmer.
