Gibson City man sentenced to 32 years in prison

A former Gibson City man has been sentenced to 32 years in prison after pleading guilty to child pornography charges in the Ford County Circuit Court May 13th. According to reports, 25 year old Ryan J. Nelson was on probation in DeWitt County for aggravated criminal sexual abuse when suspected child porn was discovered on his phone by Ford County Probation Officers back in January. A search of Nelson’s home in Gibson City also turned up other electronic devices containing child porn. Nelson was charged with 10 counts of possession, which included four class 1 felonies and six class 2 felonies. Nelson was sentenced to four consecutive eight year terms in the Illinois Department of corrections.
