Arson arrest made in overnight fire

Kankakee City Fire Department Personnel were called to a home in the 400 block of South Elm just after 12:30 this morning for a garage fire. When they got there, firefighters found the detached garage on fire and another small fire in the alley. Reports say the fire was put out quickly and investigators with the help of City Police found a person thought to have set the fires. That person, whose name has not been released, was arrested on arson charges. No one was hurt, damage to the garage was put at about seven-thousand dollars.
