Suspected arsonist identified

Authorities have released the name of the man thought to be responsible for setting a fire overnight.  Kankakee City Fire Department Personnel were called to a home in the 400 block of South Elm just after 12:30 this morning for a garage fire. When they got there, firefighters found the detached garage on fire and another small fire in the alley. Reports say the fire was put out quickly. After an investigation, Kankakee City Police arrested Carlos S. Vazquez of Bourbonnais on arson charges. No one was hurt, damage to the garage was put at about seven-thousand dollars.
