Local authorities are asking for help to identify a man who drowned in the Kankakee River late last week. In a press release, Kankakee City officials say it was just after noon Friday when City Police and Fire were called to the River just north of the Bird Park Boat Launch for a possible drowning. Reports say the man’s body was found downstream from the Fisherman’s Park area. The Kankakee County Coroner’s Office describes the man as Hispanic, about five foot 10 inches tall weighing about 168 pounds. He was wearing black jogging pants, a maroon t-shirts and grey and white Adidas shoes. It’s thought he would have last been seen about 10 o’clock last Tuesday night near the Court Street bridge or surrounding area. They say if you know someone matching that description that you’ve not been able to make contact with you contact the Coroner’s office or Kankakee City Police.
