Kankakee Police Seize Allegedly Stolen Gun

Kankakee City Police seized an allegedly stolen firearm off the streets last night. According a police report, officers approached a group of young men wearing face masks around 5:30 last night in the 700 block of North Harrison avenue. Officers noticed one of the young men, later identified as 21 year old Isaiah E. Drew, was concealing something in his hooded sweatshirt pocket. Officers asked Drew to take his hands out of his sweatshirt pockets, but refused and tried to slip away. After a short struggle, officers were able to handcuff Drew and take him to the station for questioning. Drew allegedly was in possession of a stolen firearm that had an extended magazine with a drum. The firearm had two different serial numbers, one on the slide and one of the frame. KanComm advised the number on the slide was stolen out of Louisiana and the number all the frame was stolen out of Texas. Drew was charged with possession of a stolen firearm among several other charges.
