One Person Dead in I-57 Ashkum Crash

One person has been pronounced dead at the scene of a crash that occurred on I-57 earlier today. Illinois State Troopers report the fatal two car crash happened around noon today at milepost 293 near Ashkum. I-57 northbound is currently closed and is expected to remain that way for several hours. ISP encourages you to avoid the area.
