Arrest Made in Connection with I-57 Semi Crash

Illinois State Police have made an arrest in connection with yesterday’s rollover semi crash on I-57 near exit 312 in Kankakee. 31 year old Lisa E. Cotton of Blue Island is allegedly the at-fault driver that caused the semi to crash and apparently left the scene of the accident immediately after it happened early yesterday morning. Illinois State Police found Cotton at her Blue Island home later the same day. Cotton was arrested and charged with Aggravated Reckless Driving, Leaving the Scene of a crash, and failure to report a crash. All felony charges. The sole occupant of the semi, 57 year old James C. Denton is in the hospital with significant injuries. Southbound lanes of I-57 were shut down for about six hours yesterday morning to clean up the crash.
