Caldwell Resigns as President of BBCHS School Board
The President of Bradley Bourbonnais Community High School Board of Education has resigned. According to reports, Justin Caldwell submitted his letter of resignation on Wednesday saying he has accepted a position with the Illinois Association of School Boards. Caldwell is currently in his third term on the board. His term ends in April 2027. Vice President, Jim Patterson, will fill the role of President until the board appoints someone else in Caldwell’s place. Caldwell’s final day on the BBCHS School Board will be August 11th.

Health Fair tomorrow in Kankakee
Hippocrates Medical Clinic in downtown Kankakee will host a “Back to School Health Fair” Saturday at their location on East Court. Dondi Maricle is the President of Hippocrates Board of Directors
She adds there’ll be other businesses there to offer their services as well

Lake Co IN Fair starts today
The Lake County Fair in Crown Point, Indiana begins today. Nicki Gladstone from the fair has a rundown of today’s events.

Back to school event to be held Saturday
Back to school giveaways are in full swing. There is one coming up tomorrow afternoon from 1 to 3 at the Salvation Army in Kankakee hosted by Kankakee United and other organizations. Rhonda Currie with the details.

Illinois roads rated so-so
US News and World report is out with their take on the quality of roadways in every state in the union. Out of the 50 states, Illinois ranks 29th in road quality rating as the 36th best state overall, 22nd in road infrastructure and 29th in transportation.US News and World Report rates Indiana’s roads number one, Rhode Island dead last in 50th.
Alarm calls firefighters to Wilmington HS
Wilmington Fire Department personnel were called out to a fire alarm set off at Wilmington High School early Thursday afternoon . Reports say it turned out to be a small dryer fire that was put out by the sprinklers in the building. The blaze caused minor smoke and water damage. No one was injured.
