A federal appeals court is ordering Michael Madigan to report to prison next week while he appeals his conviction in his corruption case. The 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals denied a request by the former Illinois House Speaker to be granted bail. Madigan must report to federal prison on October 13th to begin a seven-and-a-half-year sentence behind bars after he was found guilty in February of bribery and other corruption counts. Federal prosecutors say Madigan conspired with others to get ComEd to make monetary payments to his associates in exchange for favorable legislation.
