Traffic Stop Results in Gun Arrest

A routine traffic stop turned into a gun arrest for Kankakee City Police Thursday night. According to reports, officers pulled over a 2025 red Toyota Corolla in the 200 block of South Elm Avenue just after ten Thursday night. A search of a gray backpack in the car turned up a  .40 caliber handgun with a magazine slotted with 12 rounds. The front passenger of the car, 46 year old Quantus J. Evans was arrested and charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon with no FOID card among other gun related charges.
