Weekend Fire Damages Garage in Beecher

Beecher Fire Department personnel fought a garage fire over the weekend. A press release says firefighters were called to the fire in the 500 block of Oak Park Avenue just after 6:30 Saturday night. When they got there, firefighters say they found a detached garage, heavily involved with flames that threatened nearby structures. Firefighting efforts were hampered by a frozen hydrant. There were no injuries reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
