Kankakee City Police Make Gun Arrest

Kankakee City Police report a weekend gun arrest. According to reports, it was just before 3:30 Sunday afternoon when officers say they spotted 27-year-old Giovanni M Davis cross the street illegally  near the intersection of East Court Street and South Chicago Avenue. When officers stopped to talk to him, Davis allegedly dropped his backpack and took off running. Reports say officers caught up to Davis in the 300 block of North Harrison Avenue and a search of the backpack allegedly turned up a handgun. City Police arrested Davis for Unlawful Use of a Weapon among other charges.
