We are under that Extreme Cold Warning until noon today. The National Weather Service says we can expect dangerously cold windchills between 30 and 40 below, which can cause frostbite to exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes. The weather service suggests you dress appropriately if you have to be outside, leave the water running in the sink so your water pipes don’t freeze and bring in your pets during the extreme cold. It’s also a good idea to check on your elderly family, friends and neighbors. The Weather Service has issued a cold weather advisory to replace the warning when it expires at noon. The Cold Weather Advisory will run through nine tomorrow morning.
