A man is in custody following the shooting death of a 30-year-old woman at a rural Momence bar Monday. Kankakee County Sheriff Mike Downey says the suspect has been apprehended and identified as 47-year-old Julius E. Burkes Junior of Hammond, Indiana.
Burkes allegedly shot and killed Courtney Drysdale execution style at her bar in Momence before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash from the register before Noon Monday. Sheriff Downey says this type of violent behavior has no place in our society.
