Man Caught With Crossbow in Kankakee

Kankakee City Police were called to a bar in the fifteen hundred Block of North Hobbie Avenue early Thursday morning for a man armed with a crossbow. According to reports, when officers arrived just before one Thursday morning, the man was no longer in the bar but was seen walking southbound on Hobbie Avenue. Officers ordered the man to put down the crossbow and step away from it. The man did as he was told. Officers patted him down and didn’t find any other weapons. The man told officers he was walking to his friends house to sell him the crossbow and that he just walked into the bar to warm up. Once inside, he was told he had to leave because of the crossbow. The caller said the man didn’t threaten or point the crossbow at anyone in the bar. Police took the crossbow and drove the man to his home in Bradley.
