Watseka Firefighter Dies Following Cancer Battle

An off-duty Watseka Firefighter has died. According to a Facebook post from the Watseka Fire Department, Dakota Schroeder passed away today after a battle with brain cancer. Schroeder dedicated over six years of service to the Watseka Fire Department. Visitation for Schroder will be held Friday from four to seven at Baier Funeral Home in Watseka with a funeral at 11 Saturday morning. Schroeder was twenty-five years old.
