Kankakee Township Fire Battled Multiple Fires Monday

Kankakee Township Fire Protection District responded to a handful of fires yesterday. In a Facebook post, the district says they were called out to a brush fire in Pembroke that spread to several structures. Then later on, crews fought several fires along Route 17 that stretched over a mile. There was also a small illegal burn in the Otto Fire District. The three fire calls kept crews busy for over six hours. Kankakee Township Fire says even though we’re not under a Red Flag Warning currently, everything is extremely dry and ask you not to burn when high winds are present.
