State Unemployment Up

Illinois’ unemployment rate is up slightly.  The state Department of Employment Security says the state’s jobless rate in January was four-point-nine-percent, up point-two-percentage points from December.  Non-farm payroll jobs jumped 18-thousand, the largest monthly increase since June 2023.
