Half of ComEd Four get new trial

Apr 15, 2026 | 10:48 AM
An appeals court is ordering new trials for two members of the so-called “ComEd Four.”  The court made the ruling after hearing arguments during a hearing yesterday for lobbyist Michael McClain and former ComEd CEO Anne Pramaggiore.  Both were also ordered to be released from prison on bail.  McClain, Pramaggiore, Jay Doherty, and John Hooker were all found guilty in 2023 of conspiring to influence and reward former Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan to assist with the passage of legislation favorable to the utility.  Yesterday’s ruling has no direct impact on Madigan’s conviction.
