Local businesses and non-profits aren’t the only ones who can apply for low-interest loans through the U.S. Small Business Administration to help pay for damage caused by the storm in early March. DJ Jakala of SBA says homeowners and renters are eligible too.
Jakala added interest on the SBA loans do not begin to accrue, and payments are not due, until 12 months from the date of the first loan disbursement. Some loans have terms up to 30 years. You can visit the three SBA Disaster Relief Centers in Kankakee County at the Village of Aroma Park, the Kankakee Train Depot, and Northfield Square Mall in Bradley up until Saturday, April 25th.
