Fire damaged an apartment building on East Court Street Tuesday afternoon. Kankakee Fire Chief Bryan LaRoche says Fire Department personnel were called to the apartment building  in the 11-hundred block of East Court Street about 12:30 yesterday afternoon. When they got there, firefighters say they found the fire contained to one unit of the four-unit building and it was quickly put out. There was only minor damage to the apartment, but all four units had to be emptied while repairs are made. The fire, which was thought to have been electrical in nature caused some 50-thousand-dollars worth of damage to the building. No injuries were reported, but six adults and three children have been displaced by the blaze.
