A Dyer, Indiana, man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison plus 15 years of probation after he pleaded guilty to child pornography charges. In a press release, United States Attorney Adam Mildred said 42-year-old Michael Deckinga was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty to distributing child pornography. Between November 2024 and May 2025 Deckinga distributed child pornography and admitted to investigators that he accessed child sexual abuse materials using the Kik messenger. Deckinga was the Vice President of Advancement at Mid-America Reformed Seminary in Dyer Indiana. Agents from Homeland Security Investigations working with the Indiana Internet Crimes against Children Task Force uncovered his crimes. In addition to jail time and probation, Deckinga was ordered to pay $50,000 to the victims of the offense.
