An ordinance was passed at last night’s Village of Manteno Board Meeting allowing board members to remotely attend board meetings. The ordinance, which had failed to pass in previous meetings, garnered enough votes to pass last night. Village Attorney Joe Cainkar says the guidelines the village will be using for remote attendance are the same as what the state uses.
Cainkar says the board must be informed of the absence and that there must be a valid reason, however there is currently no limit as to how many times one can attend remotely
