The long awaited forensic audit of Village of Manteno finances was reviewed at a special meeting of the Village Baord last night. Major themes and concerns the auditors brought up during the two hour long meeting included concerns about wire transfers, certain construction bids, the sale of the Manteno Golf Course, in which the auditors said they did not believe the Village got full value of the property, and money management within local banks. Manteno Mayor Annette LaMore expressed concerns at the end of the meeting that she felt there were spending patterns and deliberate actions that did not serve the greater interest of Manteno residents. However, Trustee CJ Boudreau believes that there was no hardcore evidence of fraud uncovered.
