Gas prices going down

Gas prices across Illinois are dropping now that Memorial Day is in the rear view mirror. Triple-A says a gallon of regular no-lead gas is running four-dollars-83 cents across the Land of Lincoln. That’s down 15 cents over last Friday’s price. Triple-A says gas in the Kankakee area is running 4.74 on average, about 12 cents cheaper than last Friday, but still about a buck-fifty a gallon more than we were paying at this time last year. Gas in Iroquois County is running four-dollars-78 cents on average, It’s 4.86 a gallon in Ford County, 4.61 in Grundy County and 4.73 on average in Will County.
Across the state line, Triple-A says a gallon of gas is running three-dollars-75 cents on average in Newton County. It’s 3.89 on average in Benton County and 3.85 on average in Jasper County. Triple-A says a gallon of gas is running three-dollars-77 cents on average across the Hoosier State, the lowest average cost in the United States. Indiana has dropped its taxes on gas until June 7th.
