The Village of Manteno set a deadline for Gotion to have a fully staffed fire brigade last night at the Village Board Meeting. According to Trustees Joel Gesky and Mike Barry, the requirements are that the battery plant must staff and have on duty at least six fire fighters at one time at all times throughout the week. According to the memorandum of understanding handed out by Trustee Gesky, one of the fire brigade members must be qualified as an Incident Commander, while another one must be qualified as an Incident Safety Officer. If Gotion does not comply by August 31st of this year, Gesky stated that their occupancy permit may be pulled, which would make the company unable to operate.
