Kankakee man arrested on gun/drug charges

Kankakee City Police report the arrest of a Kankakee man on weapons charges Monday. According to reports, officers were called to a home on last Thursday for a domestic disturbance. When police arrived, the victim allegedly told officers of several concerning incidents involving firearms in connection with 33-year-old Joshua Collins. The victim also said Collins had threatened everyone inside the home. City police executed a court authorized firearms restraining order Monday and recovered four firearms, several magazines and ammunition, along with suspected methamphetamine. Collins has been charged with armed violence, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and possession of meth.
