Kankakee City Police were called to the Meadowview Shopping Center in regards to a burglary Wednesday morning. According to reports, officers arrived just after eight Wednesday morning to a unit used for storage at the shopping center by Kankakee School District 111. School district employees told officers someone had apparently rummaged through the warehouse, stolen 10 wheelchairs and physical therapy equipment, and torn down shelves. The employees also told officers they found a mattress where they think someone had been sleeping on recently. Police found no signs of forced entry to the building. The investigation into the burglary continues.
