During the public comment portion of Monday night’s Bradley Village Board Meeting, two residents expressed their concerns about privacy when it comes to the flock cameras installed around town. Mayor Mike Watson says the license plate reader cameras have helped solve many crimes in the village.
Mayor Watson added that he doesn’t believe anyone in the Bradley Police Department has abused the Flock camera technology. During the meeting, Chief Don Barber said it’s easier to monitor system usage in Bradley because they are a smaller department compared to places like Joliet where officers wrongfully used the cameras to track people. Chief Barber also said the police department currently has eight flock cameras and Bradley businesses also have some.
