A Channahon family was displaced by a fire in their home early Monday morning. In a press release, Channahon Fire Protection District Fire Chief Michael McMilin says firefighters were called to the home in the 26-thousand block of West Winding Oak Trail just before 4:30 yesterday afternoon. When they got there, firefighters found the home fully engulfed in flames. Reports say the family was home when the fire broke out, but they and their pets were able to get out of the home before firefighters arrived. Channahon Fire with the help of firefighters from surrounding communities put out the flames. The fire was thought to have been accidental in nature.
