Kankakee City Police investigate shots fired

Kankakee City Police are looking into an incident where shots were fired in the City Tuesday night. According to reports, officers were called to the apartment building in the 200 block of Crestlane Driver after multiple calls came in reporting shots fired. When they got there, officers say they spoke to a man near the bus stop who said he’d come from the rear of the building and didn’t hear any shots. Kankakee Police say they searched the building and confirmed no one had been hit by the gunfire, but did find a spent shell casing on the floor near a first floor apartment, another spent casing near the stairs and a live round outside one of the apartments. Witnesses said they didn’t see who did the shooting. City Police continue to investigate.
