Oct 23, 2026 | 9:05 AM
At Monday night’s Kankakee City Council Meeting, aldermen voted to wave the competitive bidding process to have four roofs replaced on city owned buildings that need urgent repair from storm damage that happened earlier this year. Mayor Chris Curtis says this is the first four of eighteen roofs that need replacement.
Mayor Curtis says the 372-thousand dollar cost for the roofs will be covered by insurance money. Langlois Roofing out of Kankakee has been hired to replace all four roofs.
