Illinois ready to set trial date for accused cop killer

Accused cop killer Darrius Sullivan of Bourbonnais was in Kankakee County court Tuesday for a status hearing.  Sullivan and his girlfriend Xandria Harris of Bradley, allegedly shot and killed Bradley Sgt Marlene Rittmanic and wounded Sgt. Tyler Bailey at a Bradley hotel in December of 2021. During Tuesday’s hearing, States Attorney Jim Rowe told the court the state is ready to set a trial date which would likely be held sometime early next year.  We also heard a psychological report on Sullivan is finished but has yet to be made public.  His next hearing will be on October 24th.  The Daily Journal reports Harris will be in court next Tuesday for a hearing.
