Steger Swat Called To Apartment Building

An apartment building was surrounded by police and had to be evacuated yesterday afternoon in Steger following an armed robbery after which the alleged gunman ran into an apartment in the building in the 300 block of West 34th Street and refused to come out.  The South Suburban Emergency Response Swat team was called in and 18 year old Damairius T. Hargrave of Steger eventually surrendered. Nobody was hurt. Police say Hargrave set up a meeting with the victim to supposedly sell him a phone, but when the victim arrived Hargrave allegedly pulled a gun on him and took the cash.  The victim watched Hargrave run into the building then called police.
