Cost of Water Going Up in Gardner

Water and sewer rates are going up in the Village of Gardner.   Rates will be going up five percent with the start of the new fiscal year after an effort to abate the increase failed at this week’s village board meeting.  The increase follows the results of a survey that showed Gardner water and sewer rates are currently lower than other area municipalities and village officials say additional funding is needed to maintain the system.
