Wilmington Cops Dropped Off an Immigrant in Kankakee Instead of Arresting Him

Wilmington police allegedly dropped off a Venezuelan immigrant in Kankakee, instead of arresting him, after he allegedly tried to get into multiple Wilmington homes.  Media reports say the man told a woman in one home at the time that he was an immigrant and needed help that the government was not providing and he has decided to just take what he wants.  He also allegedly offered candy to her children. She called Wilmington police and after speaking with the man, police decided to drive him to Kankakee when he said he needed to go south.  Wilmington police told Joliet media that if they had arrested him he would have just been released under provisions of the safe-t act.
