Man Charged in Lockport Township Shooting

Police have now identified the 70 year old man who shot a 45 year old woman in the chest Tuesday afternoon in Lockport Township.  Under arrest and charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery with a firearm, and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon is John P. Shadbar of Lockport Township. Shadbar and the victim are neighbors. Witnesses tell police Shadbar fired dozens of rounds from an assault style rifle at the victim from different locations outside his home.  She was struck in the hand and chest, with one bullet exiting her back. The woman remains in critical condition.  Police are saying the shooting may have been racially motivated.
